The Comeback: 99 Down… 1 To A Major Milestone

I have taken some time to reflect on my journey so far and now that I am one pound away from a major milestone, I wanted to reflect on the one major reason I decided to take this seriously. As I was getting older and seeing my physical health get worse, I started to see major wake up calls from the news. Mainly whenever I seen the death of a Black man in their 50s or younger from health related deaths.

It started to put things in perspective for me. To start taking my health seriously especially since I am still young. According to the CDC, the number one cause of deaths for Black Men is heart disease at 24.1%. Also with us having the highest mortality rate in the U.S. I knew if I continued the same lifestyle I had before, having heart problems in the future was looking very likely. If I have the opportunity to change that for myself, I for sure will rise up and lead myself to make better decisions health wise in the future.

With 100 right by the door step, I have been more motivated and disciplined than ever to stay true to my diet and workout regime. I know that I still have more work to do after I reach 100, hell, I have more work to do AFTER I reach my final goal. I have made the decision a long time ago that this is a lifestyle change and not just losing a certain amount of weight then going back to my old ways.
