First off, I would like to apologize for the late post. I never was three weeks behind in my posts but some things came up and I was not able to get around to creating my weekly posts. I promise moving forward to create WEEKLY posts, not BI-WEEKLY posts. Please hold me to that.
In this period I have dramatically changed my diet. To start with breakfast I have been eating granola bars or Kix. For lunch I have been eating my peanut butter whole wheat sandwiches. Also I have consistently ate apples and bananas for snacks. The biggest change I made to my diet was what I eat for dinner. For dinner recently I have mostly been eating salads. Before dinner was the most challenging time for me as I would be eating fried foods or just plain over eating. However, now I feel like I am approaching every day with a better mindset and it has helped me out tremendously. I mean literally there would be some nights I would be craving fast foods just for me to stay focused and eat a fruit for dinner. I have also increased the amount of water I consume daily, up to 16 cups. The reason for the increase was mainly due to the recent heat wave we had but I also read that it is good to actually drink a gallon of water daily. So that is what I plan to do going forward.
I have also approached exercising differently. Everyday I make sure I complete daily my push ups and sit ups goals. I can see the progress I made as I no longer struggle to complete them. Completing this simple task also helps me with pushing myself to workout later in the day. I am starting to do workouts on a more consistence basis as well. I would use the elliptical and treadmill at the gym at my job or do calisthenics workout involving jumping rope, jumping jacks, burpees, push ups and sit-ups. On the weekends I have also started my days by playing basketball at the local park in the morning around 7 AM. No one is around during those times and I am fine with that as I can just shoot baskets for a good hour.
That leads me into a story I have to share. The first time I started to play basketball in the mornings, I set a challenge for myself that I could not leave the park until I hit a corner three from both sides of the court. This was already after the hour of shooting around and I was completely struggling to do this. Every time I missed I got more frustrated and it affected my shot more and more. I was practically out there for another 30 minutes trying to make these shots, but I stuck with it an eventually I made them. This is the mindset I realized I need to have with this journey. No matter how many mistakes I made, no matter how long it takes me to reach my fitness goal, I will never give up. Quitting is for losers, that is not me. Successful people struggle all the time, but they have the mindset to keep on going until eventually they reach their goal or task and that is one of the main things that sets them apart from most people in the world. So this is a message to my audience, I WILL NEVER QUIT. If I am still doing these posts two years from now (hopefully in a way better shape than I am in now) just understand I will continue to keep pushing forward until I have reached my goal.
